Frequently Asked Questions about Rough Creek Lodge...

What is the dress code for dinner?

We like to call it Country Casual. It is very relaxed with guests dressing comfortably in jeans, dresses, slacks or khaki's. We want you to feel at home in the dining room.

Do you serve lunch everyday?

Yes, lunch is served each day. But, please call ahead for reservations. Every so often we may be closed to the public due to a private event, so reservations are highly recommended.

Are dining reservations required?

We do highly recommend making reservations when dining at Rough Creek. We recognize that you would be traveling some distance to get here and we do not want to disappoint you should we be sold out or if a private event is taking place.

Are your pools heated?

The Spa Pool is heated during cooler weather and the hot tub is heated each evening. The Family Pool has a large solar panel to extend the swimming season from typically mid-March through mid-October.

Can I bring my own gun?

Yes, you may use your own gun for shooting sports and hunting at Rough Creek. Please contact the Wildlife Manager for details. We do ask that guns are not placed in our guestrooms. We have a gun safe for your use at the Beretta Room.

Can I bring my own wine in at dinner?

Regrettably no, TABC licensing and county law precludes any alcohol being served at Rough Creek Lodge that has not been purchased at Rough Creek Lodge.

How old do you have to be to ride the ATV's and/or horseback riding?

For horseback riding, the minimum age is 8 years old AND our head wrangler must feel the child is physically able to control their animal. The Head Wrangler has the final say as to whether or not the child can participate in riding safely. We do have pony rides available for those that are too young or not physically able to handle the trail ride. Alternately, we may also be able to arrange private riding lesson within our riding ring for those children not capable of going on the trail ride. All minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

The minimum age to ride an ATV is 16 years old and all minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Children younger than 16 may ride on the back of our 2-seater ATV's with a parent or guardian.
